Memorandum of Intent between Saudi Arabia and UK for more Eurofighter Typhoons

The UK Government has signed a Memorandum of Intent with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to aim to finalise discussions for the purchase of more 48 Typhoons combat aircraft.
This is a positive step towards agreeing on a contract for Saudi valued partner. BAE Systems is committed to supporting the Kingdom as it modernises the Saudi Armed Forces and develops key industrial capabilities critical to the delivery of Vision 2030.
The Royal Saudi Air Force already acquired 72 Eurofighter Jets, with deliveries under its Project Salam acquisition having concluded the last year 2017.
Other beneficiaries of this new Eurofighter Typhoon order would include the Eurojet consortium, with its EJ200 turbofan engines; Italian Leonardo, responsible for its electronic warfare equipment and radar, as part of the Euroradar group; and guided weapons supplier MBDA.
